TSARA CAMP – TSARANORO VALLEY
15 TENTS IN THE TSARANORO VALLEY
After a several travels in South Africa, the Boogie Pilgrim’s Staff decided that the presence of Giraffes and Elephants is not essential to import this accommodation concept in Madagascar ! In 2000, we imported a hundred meters of canvas and made our own tents on site, with the help of a malagasy needlewomen’s team and their out-of-age sewing machines !
Live the Tsaranoro Adventure in a real tent camp !
The Tsara Camps lies in the Tsaranoro Valley surrounded by the Tsaranoro Mountain (1910m from sea level, 800m from the valley), the chameleon mount (1540m from sea level, 600m from the valley), and by the giant mountain range showing the beginning of Andringitra National Park.
Accordingly to Boogie Pilgrim Group’s commitment for a fair trade, sustainable and accessible tourism, we arranged two tents in 2016 to ease the access of disabled people. Access ramps & enlarged bathrooms allows wheelchairs to move easily inside the tents.
Today we have 15 tents settled in a half-circle, all are equiped with :
- Double or Twin beds with mosquito nets
- Private bathrooms (Open sky shower!)
- Office corner
- Terrace with the view on Andrigintra National Park
- 24/7 water supply, heated by solar energy
- Electricity is provided twice a day by a soundless generator from 6 to 8 am and from 5 to 10 pm
TSARA CAMP has varied and spectacular surroundings, illuminated by red and ochre lights, such as in a Western movie ! To enhance this feeling, Tsara camp is settled in a half-circle, looking as Far West wagons around the camp fire ! The Tsaranoro valley is just a paradise for nature, mountain, and photography lovers ! Climbing, trekking and paragliding are all possible to spice to your journey among us.
Located in the center of the camp under a thatched roof, the restaurant welcomes you at any moment of the day with tea and coffee. The breakfast is a buffet. It is copious to be in a good condition all day along, espacially if you are going for a trek. A pique nique can be prepared in this case. Lunch and diner are three-sets menus. The cook is tasteful and copious, under european and malagasy influences.
« Zafimaniry » LOUNGE
The lounge is near the restaurant and is ideal for sharing a sunset drink or for reading a book, even for a large group. It is decorated with the famous wooden totems, sculpted by a traditional technique from Zafimaniry ethnic group (Coming from the north of Fianarantsoa). Two wheels from a zebu cart are also cleverly integrated inside the lounge.
